About

WHEN: The 3rd Wednesday of every month

WHERE: The Spoke Club – 600 King St. West, Toronto ON, M5V 1M3

DESCRIPTION:
Melting the Silos 2011:  Bridging the gap between the media sectors.

Why can’t the Gaming people meet the TV people, the Publishing people meet the Web Video people, and everyone get to meet the Advertising people?  Let’s be honest, in the end, it’s all about the money.

Each month we focus on one of the 5 key cross media sectors (motion, mobile, marketing, publishing, gaming).

We find local speakers who are experts in their sector.  We ask them to present, then discuss their business model, and take questions from the audience.

The evening is about networking and knowledge sharing. In our first year, 2010, we were going to do a yearly event but the industry is changing too quickly and we felt we needed something exclusive and more frequent.

Our goal is to invite media professionals who will find the speakers relevant and the audience members a good match in terms of seniority and experience.

We look forward to meeting you all.

2010 Speakers included:

  • Allistair C. Mitchell, Vice President, Multimedia Integration, Research In Motion Limited
  • Bonnie Fuller (President and Editor-in-Chief, Hollywood Life)
  • Ashley Swartz (Senior Vice President, Digitas)
  • Roger Keating (Senior Vice President, Hearst Television)

  •

    Key questions:

    1.  What do executives in the media business need to know in order to profit
    from the “melting silos”?

    2.  What opportunities are there to work with other sectors?

    3.  Who has done this successfully in the past?
